Welcome to Brookfield
Fairfield County Connecticut
The town of Brookfield is located in southwestern
Connecticut, bordered on the west by Candlewood Lake and on the east by
picturesque Lake Lillinonah. The Still River meanders through the town.
It was originally a parish called the society of Newbury. The town was
incorporated on land from Danbury, New Milford and Newtown in 1788. The
town maintains a significant historic district and conducts tours of
restored houses, schools, churches, and gardens dating from colonial
times. Despite its rapid growth, it has managed to retain its small-town
friendliness and rural character.
